--------------------------------------------------------------------------- uViewIt April 2004 Version 1.7.06 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Minimum Requirements] - PC: IBM PC/AT and compatible with pre-installed Windows. Windows 98 / Windows 98 Second Edition / Windows Millennium Edition / Windows 2000 Professional/Server / Windows XP Home Edition/Professional are supported. Windows 95, Windows NT are not supported. - CPU: Pentium III 900MHz; RAM: 64MB Higher performance is recommended. Depending on your computers, however, changing the video format size will have a large impact on performance. For example, a video format (image) size of 640x480 will require a fast processor especially when writing video to disk when motion is detected. An image size of 320x240 will require much less CPU power to do the same task. - Hard Disk: 200MB (minimum) More space will be required depending on the video recording settings. UViewit uses MPEG-4 video compression as default, if you change this compression to "None" for example, your hard disk might fill very quickly. This setting should be adjusted with caution. Note: uViewIt will refuse to start if your available free disk space runs below 4% of your total disk space. - Display: 800x600 resolution with 16-bit High Color True Color or 32-bit color settings are recommended. - CD-ROM Drive A Writable CD/DVD recorder can be used to offload .avi video files in order to free hard disk space. uViewIt does not delete or maintain these video files, this must be done manually. These files can be found in the directory uViewIt was installed under CaptureData. - Sound Board A sound card is required to hear the audio recorder by DV camcorders. uViewIt will record audio as well as video when motion is detected. - USB port USB port is required to use external webcams. USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 webcams can be used as sources for uViewIt. - IEEE1394 / FireWire (Sony i.Link) ports These ports can be used with DV camcorders having a DV In/Out or FireWire port. Also know as Sony i.Link. Note: most laptop computers come with a FireWire/i.Link port. [System Suspend / System Idle] - System Suspend or Hibernation mode during operation is not recommended. When the system moves to System Suspend or System Idle mode in such operations as video recording, motion detection, the avi video file may be corrupted or the system may not be resumed. [Software Installation / Un-installation] - The following modules are installed when this software is installed. But some of them may not be installed.
